I was recently watching an interview with Elizabeth Taylor conducted by Barbara Walters. Taylor, infamous for her luxurious jewelry collection, had many pieces gifted by suitors and men she was in relationships with. Walters asked Elizabeth if any of her suitors were ever jealous that her jewelry was from other men. Taylor's response was iconic: "So I'm told." When Walters asked what she did about it, Taylor simply said, "I encourage them to get me more." 😂😂 iconic.

Now I understand why men buy women jewelry. Aside from it being a thoughtful gift that she would love, he really doesn’t know if the one she’s wearing is from another man or not. And I think that may eat at them a little. I mean, now that I think about it, if I were a man, that would eat at me a bit too 😂

Now when it comes to him, I don’t give a fuck who bought him what. He can wear the same shirt and drawers his ex bought him for all I care.

Ok, there was one thing that I thought his ex bought him—a watch, that he wore all the time which made me want to throw it out. It could’ve been worth a million dollars for all I cared; all I knew was it belonged in the trash. Not resale or anything like that, but the trash lol. But it turned out he bought it for himself. Maybe it has to do with the value of the gift and how much they wear it.

As for his shirt and drawers, I know personally, there is absolutely no sentimental value that goes into buying those items for him, coming from any woman 😂😂. It’s more so a, “can’t your nasty ass see you need some new drawers” vibe. There is absolutely no heart or love (haha) that goes into buying that shit for him. It’s the equivalent of buying my toddler diapers; it’s just another annoying little item on my list.

But it explains why, in the beginning of dating my husband, he was fixated on the jewelry I was wearing. He would say things like, "That's a nice necklace, is that the style you like to wear?" Within a month of dating, he bought me a new necklace. I think I understand why now, obviously aside from it being a lovely gift for me. Whether it was a conscious decision on his part or maybe subliminal, the intention was clear. And I loved it lol. What woman doesn't

So, ladies, here’s the deal: while dating, make sure you wear every piece of jewelry you can think of. If he doesn't like it, well, he can buy you another, even better and more expensive, to replace it.

And if he asks about it, you can say, "it was a gift." If he asks if it is sentimental, you can say, "I'm not attached to it, but I do like wearing nice jewelry." He'll get the point and if he doesn't, oh well, that's a him problem.

They all need to assume that every piece of jewelry you wear is from another man, unless they directly bought it for you. Otherwise, oh well, let them continue to see you wearing that other man’s gift on your chest, ear and hand 🤷🏾‍♀️ If they like it, I love it lol.
